What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device so it can recognise you the next time. We use the word here for the related technologies too — local storage, session storage and pixels — because they raise the same question and you should be able to answer it in one place.

Strictly necessary

These make the site and the app work, and cannot be turned off from here — turning them off in your browser will break signing in.

  • Session: keeps you signed in as you move between pages.
  • Security: protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • Load balancing: keeps a request with the server that is already handling you.

Preferences

These remember choices you have made so the site does not ask twice: dismissed notices and your cookie choice itself. They are stored on your device and never leave it.

Analytics

These tell us which pages are read and where people give up, in aggregate. We keep them to a minimum, we do not use them to build a profile of you, and we set them only if you agree.

If you decline, the site works exactly as it does otherwise; we simply see less.

Cookies we do not set

Some pages embed things served by others — a video, a status page, a payment form. Those providers may set their own cookies, which are governed by their policies rather than this one. We do not allow advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on morph.systems.

Applications built with Morph

An application Morph builds for you is yours, and the cookies it sets are yours to declare. We will build it to ask for consent where the law requires it, but the policy your users read is one you own.

Managing cookies

When you first visit, the notice asks before any optional cookie is set: Reject all and Accept all sit side by side, and Customize lets you choose each kind on its own. In Europe, optional cookies start switched off and stay off until you turn them on; elsewhere, Analytics starts switched on there, and you can turn it off. Nothing is saved until you choose.

To change or withdraw your choice at any time, open Cookie settings at the foot of any page. Your choice is kept in your browser, with the date you made it; we ask again after six months, or sooner if what we ask about changes. Your browser can also block or clear cookies for this site — every major browser has this in its privacy settings — though blocking the necessary ones will stop you signing in.

Do Not Track

There is still no agreed standard for how sites should answer a Do Not Track signal, so we do not respond to one. We treat a declined analytics consent as the answer instead.
